In Memory of our Founder

Anjay Skwira

Director, Visionary & Retreat Leader of Pura Vida Wellness Retreat

Anjay passed over to the world of spirits in 2019. We are forever grateful for Anjay and his life path that brought him to Yelapa to create Pura Vida. We honor his life journey and the commitment and passion he had for living an awakened life and sharing it with others.

In his twenties, a near death experience gave him a spiritual awakeningthat led him to travel extensively. He was guided to India and Africa. He immersed himself in meditation and silent retreats and learning various spiritual practices. He became a Spiritual Life Coach, yoga and meditation teacher, Holistic BreathworkTM Practitioner/Trainer, Aquatic Bodyworker with extensive training and certifications in Watsu and Waterdance and Healing Dance, as well as trained in Esalen, Thai, Swedish, Tantsu, Self-Healing, Movement Education, Anahata Yoga, Integrative and Yin Yoga and Taoist Chi Gong.

He enjoyed in-depth study and practice of self-inquiry and meditation as a path of liberation. In his teaching and counseling he integrated over 35 years of experience in spiritual practices and leading healing retreats.

He and his commitment to spiritual awakening is ever-present as we go forward in sharing Pura Vida with all that come to retreat.

Akaal, Akaal, Akaal*

*akaal (Akal) is from the Sikh tradition; means timeless, immortal, non-temporal. It’s chanted after death; to release a soul from its attachment to this life. There is no death, only liberation; the infinite, immortal, timeless.

Namaste ♥
